‘Big Beautiful Bill’ passes in House with vote of 218 to 214

The "One Big Beautiful Bill" passed with a vote of 218 to 214 on Thursday in the House of Representatives after being sent back to the chamber with amendments from the Senate. The bill will now go to President Donald Trump's desk to be signed into law. Two GOP lawmakers voted against the bill: Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA).

The package includes a number of agenda items and campaign promises from Trump, including no taxes on tips, an extension of the 2017 Trump tax cuts, and an increase in border enforcement. On Wednesday evening, leading up to the floor vote, a procedural vote had to be cleared in order to start the official vote process. There were some GOP holdouts at the time, however, the legislative hurdle was cleared early on Thursday morning.
