New poll shows Trump beating Biden head-to-head, Trump/DeSantis ticket winning popular vote

A new poll has revealed that in a head-to-head battle, former President Donald Trump would beat President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential race, with a Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis ticket beating the incumbent Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris ticket.

The poll, conducted for Political Media by Rasmussen and provided exclusively to The Post Millennial, found that Americans preferred Trump over Biden 48 to 41 percent, respectively, to win the next presidential election.

The poll also found that the majority of Americans favor a Trump/DeSantis ticket over Biden/Harris, at 51 to 43 percent, respectively.

Americans also preferred a Trump and former Arizona gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake ticket over a Biden/Harris ticket, at 47 to 42 percent.

Younger Americans between the ages of 18 and 39 were more likely to vote for Biden/Harris, at 59 percent, while older Americans chose the Trump/DeSantis ticket. A similar occurrence was seen with the Biden/Harris versus Trump/Lake tickets.

The poll of voters found that the majority of Americans had an unfavorable view of Biden, with 47 percent responding "very unfavorable," and 6 percent responding "somewhat unfavorable."

Younger voters were more likely to view Biden as favorable, with 66 percent between the ages of 18 and 39 responding very or somewhat favorably compared to voters 40 to 64 and older than 65, the majority of which had an unfavorable view of Biden.

Both Trump and DeSantis on the other hand had a majority of favorable responses, with 59 percent responding somewhat or very favorable for Trump and 60 percent responding as such for DeSantis.

54 percent said that they would trust a Trump/DeSantis ticket more on the issues of illegal immigration (54 percent), government corruption (51 percent), the economy (53 percent), and national security (52 percent) over a Biden/Harris ticket.

Notably, 52 percent of Hispanic voters said that Trump and DeSantis would better handle the ongoing border crisis than Biden and Harris.

“This poll gives great insights into the 2024 election," said Larry Ward, Chairman and Founder, Constitutional Rights PAC. “Trump does well head-to-head against Biden, but adding DeSantis to the ticket is powerful. Trump/DeSantis bests Biden/Harris 51-43, outside the margin of error," he said.

“Voters also prefer Trump/DeSantis on economic issues by a whopping 53-42 margin. As Americans struggle with inflation and face a 70 percent chance of recession, Jobs and the Economy are likely to top the list of voter priorities, cementing a huge advantage for Trump/DeSantis, he said.

The poll was conducted between April 27 and May 2 of 1,050 national likely voters. The poll has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
