Never Trump 2.0 underway

Never Trump 2.0 is underway. The occupiers of the political left and right who have lived to hate Donald Trump for the past six years have mobilized again to defeat the former president’s campaign to regain the White House.

None of that is particularly surprising. It is a marvel of the ages, though, that the former president is not only willing but eager to fight another presidential cage match. His enemies shouldn’t smirk — Americans love an underdog wrapped in red, white and blue.

Mr. Trump announced his 2024 candidacy before the smoke had cleared from the midterm battle that left his Republican Party victorious, but barely. Three days later, Biden administration Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel to investigate Mr. Trump on two fronts: the handling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home and his actions related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
