Suspect in Charlie Kirk assassination identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson

On Friday morning, President Donald Trump announced that "I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him," referring to the suspect wanted for the Wednesday assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. Law enforcement sources told the New York Post that the suspect arrested was 22-year-old Utah local Tyler Robinson.

At a Friday morning press conference, Utah Governor Spencer Cox announced that Robinson's father spoke with a family friend and "confessed to them or implied that he had committed the incident." That information was relayed to authorities. Additional surveillance footage reviewed by investigators showed Robinson arriving at the UVU campus just before 8:30 am local time, driving a gray Dodge Challenger on the morning of the shooting. He was seen wearing a maroon t-shirt, light colored shorts, a black hat with a white logo, and light colored shoes, clothing that he was also observed wearing when encountered by investigators in Washington County on September 12.
