Resolution honoring Charlie Kirk, condemning political violence passes House—58 Dems vote 'no,' 38 vote 'present'

A resolution to honor Charlie Kirk's life and condemn political violence passed 310 to 58 votes in the House of Representatives,, with 95 Democrats supporting the resolution. 58 Democrat House members, however, voted against it with 38 others voting "present"

The text of the resolution stated that it was condemning all forms of political violence. It reads that the House of Representatives "condemns in the strongest possible terms the assassination of Charles 'Charlie' James Kirk, and all forms of political violence," honor law enforcement in catching the suspect, as well as extend their "deepest condolences and sympathies to Charlie Kirk’s family, including his wife, Erika, and their two young children, and prays for comfort, peace, and healing in this time of unspeakable loss."
