DeSantis faces make-or-break GOP presidential debate

Ron DeSantis faces what is shaping up to be a make-or-break moment Wednesday as he spars with six fellow Republican primary candidates at the second presidential debate.

With his once-promising campaign locked in a monthslong downward spiral, the Florida governor faces intense pressure to turn things around with a standout performance at the clash set for the iconic Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Southern California.

Former President Donald Trump won’t be there, making it tougher for DeSantis to reverse his slide against the dominant front-runner in the race.

DeSantis, who has struggled to connect with voters, will be at center stage, flanked by Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley. The only candidate from the first debate who didn’t make the cut is former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, who didn’t secure the required support in polls.
