Amazon is denying a news report Tuesday that the online retailer plans to show website shoppers the additional costs of President Trump's tariffs on merchandise.
The denial is the latest turn in an evolving story that was reported early in the morning by Punchbowl News about Amazon's plan.
The story was apparently flagged by the White House before the start of an 8:30 a.m. press briefing, in which press secretary Karoline Levitt, in response to a reporter's question on the matter, said she spoke to Trump beforehand and that his response was, "This is a hostile and political act by Amazon."
