House Speaker Mike Johnson's spokesperson slammed Democrats after Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., said he would work on legislation to disqualify a candidate under the 14th Amendment in response to the Supreme Court's decision that keeps former President Donald Trump on the 2024 presidential ballot.
Raskin, who led the second impeachment effort against Trump, said Monday that he is working on legislation that would "set up a process by which we could determine that someone who committed insurrection is disqualified by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment," which is known as the "insurrection clause."
