Tell Congress to REJECT the Assault Weapons Ban of 2022
It didn't work in 1994, and it won't work now! Congress is laying the groundwork to implement a mandatory gun buy-back program, and it all starts with the Assault Weapons ban. Tell Congress to vote NO on H.R. 1808
Tell Senators to vote NO on H.R. 1808
Did you see the news? Just before the August Recess, the House passed H.R. 1808, an Assault Weapons ban. If you care about the 2nd Amendment, we need you to get involved!
H.R. 1808, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2022, shares many of the same problems with prior assault weapons legislation. First, lawmakers failed to specify identifying characteristics of assault weapons, meaning they ended up banning almost every civilian rifle on the market. H.R. 1808 also lays out the foundation for a mandatory gun buy-back program, which is always the end goal of Democrat lawmakers.
The biggest issue with H.R. 1808 is that it widens the scope of what the government calls an “assault rifle” so that it covers most guns that the average American already owns. This severely limits the variety of firearms available for U.S. citizens to defend themselves against the government and each other.
Not only are they laying the foundations for a mandatory gun buy-back program, but the forbidden features mentioned in the bill do nothing to make guns any less lethal. Will prohibiting Americans from buying a rifle with a pistol grip, a detachable stock, or a threaded barrel really prevent future incidents of gun violence?
