Trump says Zelensky 'doesn't want' peace if he can keep US support

President Donald Trump said on Monday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not looking for peace if he can continue to have the support of the United States. This comes after the two clashed in a meeting at the White House on Friday.

Trump posted to Truth Social in response to an article where Zelensky said that the end of the war with Russia is "very, very far away."

"This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer!" Trump wrote. "It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the US – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking?
