While speaking to the United Nations General Assembly, an official from the Trump administration rejected the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Minister-counselor Edward Heartney, of the US mission to the United Nations, said the 2030 Agenda was “a program of soft global governance that is inconsistent with US sovereignty and adverse to the rights and interests of Americans," per Newsmax.
There are 17 “sustainable development goals,” which include ending poverty around the world as well as achieving gender equality. But the UN states that all of that should be done at the same time as advancing green energy agenda items.
