ARLINGTON, VA – Constitutional Rights PAC (CRPAC) today praised acting U.S. Attorney Ed Martin for his leadership in clawing back over $1 million of taxpayer money that had been overbilled through outside contractors.
The case involved Stax Inc., a Boston-based consulting firm that agreed to pay $1 million to resolve allegations it overbilled the U.S. Agency for International Development by inflating employee salary costs. Martin's office coordinated with USAID's Office of Inspector General to recover these taxpayer funds.
"Our government has been overrun by fraud and cronyism, and Ed Martin has been placed in a critical position to push back," said Larry Ward, Chairman of Constitutional Rights PAC. "His recent action recovering $1 million for taxpayers exemplifies exactly why we need Ed as our U.S. Attorney: he's fighting abuse and holding bad actors accountable to the American people."
Ward continued: "At a time when the administrative state continues to expand its reach beyond constitutional limits, Ed Martin stands as a steadfast defender of individual liberty and the rule of law. His confirmation is essential to restoring integrity to our justice system."
CRPAC has organized a broad coalition of conservative and non-partisan organizations in support of Ed Martin's confirmation as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. The coalition, which includes over 40 prominent leaders and organizations, delivered a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee last week urging the expeditious confirmation of Martin.
CRPAC also launched www.EdMartin.org as a hub for information about Martin's qualifications and to coordinate grassroots support for his confirmation.
As Democrats in the Senate Judiciary Committee demand unprecedented hearings for a U.S. Attorney nominee, and Adam Schiff threatens to hold Martin’s indefinitely, CRPAC and its coalition partners stand firmly behind Martin, recognizing his proven effectiveness in pursuing justice and protecting taxpayer interests.
Constitutional Rights PAC was founded in 2013 and is dedicated to defending the constitutional rights of all Americans through advocacy, education, and grassroots mobilization.
