In the past 12 months, job growth for Americans has surged as there has been a decline in employment among foreign workers. This comes as the Trump administration has cracked down on illegal immigration after Presdient Trump took office in January.
Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that since July 2024 to July 2025, job growth has grown by nearly 2 million for those who are native born Americans, an increase of 1.52 percent of American-born workers over the age of 16.
In July there were 133,035,000 native-born Americans who were employed as opposed to 131,037,000 for the same month in 2024, a difference of 1,998,000. At the same time, there has been a decrease of foreign-born individuals working in the United States.
