President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the Supreme Court will stay at nine judges for at least the next six years.

Asked in a Rose Garden news conference about the budding proposal among some Democratic presidential candidates to expand the Supreme Court, the president ruled out the possibility, saying that if the court added justices, it wouldn’t be until after the end of his second term.

“No, I wouldn't entertain that,” he said.

Trump accused Democrats warming to the idea of an expanded court of being sore losers.

"The only reason that they’re doing that: They want to try and catch up. So if they can't catch up through the ballot box, by winning an election, they want to try doing it in a different way," he said.
