O’Rourke, Gillum meet with Obama, sparking 2020 rumors

Rising Democratic stars Beto O’ Rourke and Andrew Gillum have both met with President Obama recently — fueling speculation about possible 2020 presidential runs, according to reports.

Gillum, who was narrowly defeated in a race for governor of Florida, spoke with Obama in Washington, DC, on Tuesday, according to CNN.

Obama had supported the former Tallahassee mayor’s failed run to become the first African-American governor of the Sunshine State.

Gillum was in DC Tuesday to speak at a conference on civil rights.

“What I am committed to doing between now and 2020 is doing everything I can to make the state of Florida available and winnable for the Democratic nominee for president,” Gillum said at the conference, according to the cable network.
